Finding the right colour for you is always one of the most difficult things for a new contact lens wearer. And it really all comes down to 1 of 2 things.
Are you after an obvious and intense colour change that everybody will notice and ask about? If you are after attention with an effect that people notice instantly:
* If your hair, skin and eyes have natural, blue-red undertones, a warm-toned contact lens such as a hazel or brown contact lens will be suitable.
* If you have dark skin, you should choose a bright coloured lens such as a green, purple, aqua or blue coloured contact lens.
* If your natural eye colour is brown, you should look into violet, blue or green contact lenses.
If you are shy or after a subtle colour change, that stands out a bit less but still a colour change, you might want to consider the following:
* Choose a colour similar to your existing eye colour, for example, if you have blue eyes, try aqua or green contact lenses.
* If your natural eye color is blue, you might choose contact lenses in gray or green.
* If your skin, hair and eye colours are warm-toned, you'd be best to try something such as a hazel, which will help to match and blend in.
One final thing to consider. How often will you wear your contact lenses? If it's every day, then you might want to take a more conservative colour. But if you wear them on special occasions, you might as well go all out!
